Classic classic seen by sellout crowd at Sungold Stadium Premier Speedway, Warrnambool Sunday night.
If you weren’t one of the many people that sold out the packed Sungold Stadium last night for the 2025 Flying Horse Bar & Brewery Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic, then you missed one of the best features for many a year, possibly ever.
Jock Goodyer, Jamie Veal, Lachlan McHugh, Corey Eliason and eventual winner James McFadden Racing put on a thrilling high speed stoush that at one point had three drivers, Goodyer, Veal and McFadden, all racing under the proverbial blanket with no clue as to who was going to come out on top.
Eventually, McFaddens less spectacular route primarily around the bottom won out from Veal and Eliason while Goodyer’s spectacular high line, wall banging antics probably cost him the win but won him countless fans within the venue and around the world on the live feed and had us all on the edge of our seats.
McFaddens’ victory “Shoey” didn’t quite go to plan but no-one cared as the now local hero won his third classic.
