SECOND SHOW OF THE SEASON AT REDLINE TO BE SENSATIONAL WITH HUGE NUMBERS COMING

This coming Saturday, Redline Raceway’s second show of the season is set to be action packed and stacked with huge numbers nominated across four classes which includes the Australian Motor Contest Nationals for state points, Standard Saloons for club points, Sports Sedans for the latest round of the Dirt X Industries supported state series and the Street Stocks in the ‘Daimler Trucks Ballarat Gold Cup’ as part of the Victorian state series.

Across the four classes are one hundred and four nominations. It stacks up as a show you do not want to miss.

The Dirt X Industries Victorian state series for Sports Sedans comes to Redline for the first time since the creation of the series a couple of seasons ago.

Despite competition going on elsewhere at some drivers home clubs, the nominations list is stacked with talent. Victorian champion Josh Service leads, Bradin Claridge, Brendan Miller, Caleb Lincoln, Connor Claridge, Tommy McDonald, defending series champion Ballarat’s Zac Swanson, Jamie Lock, Dale Smith, and Felicity Roycroft as some of the leading competitors strapping in for this weekend’s racing. Picking a winner is tough, however we expect one of these drivers mentioned to pick up the win.

The co-feature of the evening is the Daimler Trucks Ballarat Street Stock Gold Cup as part of the Victorian Street Stock Series and the nominations for the nights racing include many of Victoria’s best drivers. Victorian champion Dale Morrison leads the list of nominations which includes Redline’s Mick Dann, Scott Secombe, Jason Degoldi, Scott Purdie, Nathan Fawns and Stephen Brook. Dann and Degoldi in particular are at the very top of the Victorian Street Stock drivers talent list and will have their eye on victory.

Other top drivers to follow include Dean Jenkins, Steven Watts, Shaun Henry, Kane Lloyd from Northern Territory, Dale Blomeley, Jayden Blomeley, Troy Polley, Tim Hutchinson, and Tyler Barton. Picking a winner will be a hard task for Saturday, Jayden Blomeley will be right up there having started the season with a win in November.

After winning every heat race he entered and the feature race from the rear of the field in Standard Saloons at our first show of the season, Scott Whittle is expected to be the man to beat this Saturday night once again. With his nomination locked in, starting at the rear of the field is not on his card as he sets out to notch another ‘w’ against the likes of Austin Chivers, Cody McCabe, Patrick Walsh, Lachie Chivers, Steven Dadswell, Aaron and Courtney Meakins, Jacob Head and Bailey Sinclair. Ballarat has terrific representation in the class with the younger brigade of drivers in particular starting to become a real menace for Whittle.

In the Australian Motor Contest Association series round Australian champion Tim Reidy leads the entrants list which will include Frank Thierry, Paul Howard, Paul Sullivan, Neale Peachey the last start winner at Alexandra, Dean Heseltine, Stewart Grant-Campbell, and Justin Richardson as just some of the competition expected to duke it out for victory.

Reidy is the number one driver of the class with good reason, however Heseltine and himself have traded victories and records for years at Redline. Can Peachey, Richardson or Grant-Campbell come through and knock them off this Saturday?

Racing begins at 4:30pm finishing at 10:30 at 569 Yankee Flat Road Buninyong. Adult Tickets are $30 each with Children aged from 6 to 16 at $7 and aged and invalid pensioners $25. A family ticket will cost $65 for two adults and three children whilst any child aged five and under are free. Drivers and Crew Pit Levy is $30.

The venue is a permitted alcohol venue, no BYO allowed under law. Contact for information 0418 399 917.
